Ridge, hip & valley repairs
The peaks and intersections of a roof need details suited to two very different jobs: shedding wind and carrying water.

Ridges and hips face exposure
Cap materials at ridges and hips cover joints between roof planes and can be especially exposed to wind. Missing or loosened pieces leave vulnerable connections below. Inspect adjacent fastening and material condition, and coordinate any ridge work with ridge vent requirements rather than treating the cap as a purely decorative finish.
Valleys carry concentrated runoff
Water from two roof slopes meets in a valley, where leaves and debris can slow drainage. Wear, damaged valley metal or an unsuitable shingle arrangement can produce leakage. Leak detection and drainage assessment help distinguish an obstruction from a defective valley assembly.
Complex roofs need coordinated repairs
Dormers and intersecting gables create short valleys and tight wall junctions that can be difficult to access. Repairs may need to extend into adjacent roof planes so new material integrates correctly. Include nearby wall flashing and any wind-disturbed areas in the assessment.
